Caitlin Barlas and her husband Thomas Moores got married on the 6th July 2019

Caitlin first contacted me 12 months before her big day, she had booked her wedding and was looking for a professional makeup artist to go to her chosen venue to get her and the bridal party ready at The Tower House, Rowton Castle, Shropshire.

Trial Day

On the makeup trial day, Caitlin brought imagines of her wedding dress, flowers and colour theme hoping to tie her ideas together with her bridal makeup palette. Caitlin wanted her bridal makeup to look natural on her photos, to have more definition with her eyes and brows, she also wanted her look to achieve a balance that would compliment her bridal hair and wedding dress.

Caitlin is a striking brunette with strong features, being used to wearing makeup and favouring a smokey eye, I choose a selection of M.A.C eyeshadows in Mylar, Wedge, Handwritten and Smut to create a soft and romantic eye, Phloof was used to highlight under Caitlin’s brow arches and a black Caviar Eye Liner from Laura Mercier was used to create a beautiful line over her top lashes. I applied Estee Lauder foundation for a long-lasting and flawless application and to enhance and create a strong brow I used KA-BROW No 4 from Benefit and softened with brow shadow. Mocha Blush from M.A.C with an Urban Decay highlighter was applied to bring out Caitlin’s cheeks and to finish off her look I applied a beautiful blush matt lip also from M.A.C. Caitlin worn false lashes to give her look added definition.

Skincare

Caitlin wanted to improve her skincare and achieve a radiant glow on her wedding day. Makeup applied on a hydrated skin improves not only the finished look but also prolongs a makeup application, keeping brides looking their best from the moment their makeup is applied up to the last dance. I recommended a course of hydrating facials from Katherine Daniel’s, I booked her in for one facial a week for 4 weeks running up to her wedding day.

Caitlin was also conscious of her pale complexion and asked my advice on tanning, I use Vita Liberata in my salon which is an odourless and organic Spray Tan, I recommended that she should have a trial tan before coming for her trial makeup, this way, Caitlin would have a better idea of her finished look.
